About Us

We are the Pink Princesses.  Headed out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, we are a resource for young women with breast cancer.  We started out as a support group in Baton Rouge, then sat on the board starting a new support system in Baton Rouge, for young women with breast cancer, called SurviveDat.  This has alleviated some pressure in our group, so we can focus on, at the moment, gathering resources for the young women battling this disease.  Our founder, Shannon McAlister, is a force to be reckon with, she was diagnosed in June of 2005 at the age of 25 and has battled the disease since that time.  Never hearing the words remission.  Her goal is to not only help those affected by the disease but also focus on young women battling metastatic breast cancer, a group we find not focused on very much.  We are here to encourage, give knowledge, resources, and just help you cope.  Even though Pink Princesses was formed in 2008, we are still just beginning.  We hope to grow to so much more, and hope you will grow with us.  Thank you for taking the time to check us out!
